How Can We Help Haiti?

How can we help Haiti? This question plagues me.

This morning, Haiti had the biggest after shock yet (magnitude of 6.1) since the earthquake (magnitude of 7.0) on January 12th.

How can we really help?

The expressions on these Haitians' faces leaves me speechless. My heart aches.

Tragedy has hit Haiti but let us not be without hope

Precious children are hurt

We MUST not ignore this!

From the NY Times:

The demand for medical care far outstripped the supply of doctors. Debarati Guha-Sapir, a professor of epidemiology and the director of the Center for Research on the Epidemiology of Disasters at the University of Louvain in Belgium, said in an interview on Tuesday that deaths in large earthquakes generally declined after the first day or two.

“Haiti, I think, is going to be a little different,” she said. “They will die simply because there is no care. People will die of wounds. They will die of lack of surgical care. They will die of simple trauma that in almost any other country would not lead to death.”

We ask, "why God", but shouldn't we ask "how could we let such injustices be committed against a people that it would leave them so helpless in a state of crisis?"

How can we help?
