Thinking Green

Happy St. Patrick's Day! I want to share a room that shouts green.

I recently finished a dining room that is based on the design concept green.

From the ivy green patterned pillows to the reclaimed pine table made by a local artisan, this room uses new and old materials to achieve beauty.

I like to add in touches of fresh and dried flowers and moss as decorative accents.

I like to recycle prints from old books and frame them in a series.

A series of prints is an expensive way to make a big statement without paying a fortune.

These wildflower prints are from an old French book that I purchased at a garage sale at my dad's house in Ohio. I bought the book and didn't have a reason, but I knew that I would find a cool use for it. I'm so glad that I did. Suzanne Kasler says that her biggest regret while shopping is not buying what she likes even if she doesn't have a reason. These recycled prints are environmentally friendly but also friendly on your bank account.

If this room were a person, it wouldn't get pinched because it's wearing green! Have a green and happy St. Patrick's Day!
