The Balancing Act: Selecting Paint Colors

Photo a la House Beautiful

Life's been busy and I hate that I've been away from the blog lately. My husband and I have been house hunting; my clients have given me some tight deadlines; I've had some travel for some sad funerals; and I caught the swine flu last week. Excuses aside, I'm so thankful for all of my readers, and please know that you are super important to me!

Life is a balancing act, and sometimes it's hard to keep things in line.

Like life, your house has to have balance. There needs to be a flow from room to room with paint colors on walls, trim, bookshelves, window seats, built-ins and cabinets. It's all to easy to mess up with the wrong colors, and the mistake can be costly.

To keep things in balance, I want to share some of my go to paint colors.

When in doubt, I like to go to Farrow & Ball. ALL of their colors are amazing and you can't go wrong.
And what I always tell my clients is paint samples!!! You cannot mess up if you test a big swatch on the wall. Leave it there for a few days and see it in the morning, afternoon, evening lights and in darkness.

Happy balancing!

  1. These are great paint colors, each and every one! I am a big fan of Porter Paints Pearl Gray. We have used that one a lot. I'm getting ready to paint a master bathroom, and am considering SW Opaline and Window Pane.
