This past summer, my fantastic sister (who works for a performing arts center in Atlanta) snagged Diana Ross tickets for my mom, herself and myself. We were thrilled and had a blast (especially my mom).
One of my favorite parts of the concert was seeing all 8 different costumes worn by Diana Ross during one show. Can you say Diva? I couldn't wait to see what gorgeous dress she had on next singing "I'm coming out...I want the world to know...Got to let it show." This Diva has definitely shown us that sparkle, pizazz, talent and boldness can bring success (and a lot for Diana Ross).
What I love so much about this Diva is she knows who she is, and she's not afraid to show it.
Some of my favorite projects as a designer are retail projects, because I get to help my clients figure out who they are and design a space that reflects their brand (every now and then I get a client who, like Diana Ross, wants a little sparkle and glam).
In this post, I want to show how good design leads to success!
After the Diana Ross concert, my mom, sister and I headed to a newly renovated restaurant called VG Bistro.

Let me introduce you to VG Bistro (formally known as Van Gogh's). It's a quaint restaurant just outside of Atlanta in the suburbs of Roswell. A couple years ago, the restaurant got a heavy dose of some fresh paint, new furniture & furnishings, lighting and materials. While I did not personally work on this project, I have seen how its success has grown since its remodel.

The walls, floors, seating and furnishings used to be dark and saturated in color. It's amazing what how just lighting up the surfaces with white can modernize the space.
These transparent metallic and white drum chandeliers are incredible. I love the oversized scale of them.
Again, beautiful light fixtures make all the difference. The comfortable banquet seating (with comfortable pillows) is not only aesthetically pleasing and functional, but it makes folks want to linger ("Yes, I'll have another Cosmo, please.").
The design of VG Bistro is just as pretty during the day as it is at night. The soft and bright white interior are relaxing and fresh. The details make the overall design work.
The artwork is heavenly!
This is the kind of place where you feel comfortable dining out with your husband, your date and even your kids (well behaved of course!). Who knows, you may even see Diana Ross noshing there since the interior is definitely Diva worthy!
A toute a l'heure,
Natalie
