Isty Bitsy Teenie Weenie Cottage Home and Garden Dreaming

Last Saturday was by far my favorite Saturday in Nashville. It was
my husband's and my first day back after a week's vacation, and
so the phone calls and emails were few and far between our family
day in Nashville (by family, I mean my husband, me and our
2 1/2 year old little puppy).

We woke up late and headed to several local Nashville places to collect a
variety of plants, herbs and flowers for our front porch and back patio.

I've posted on my patio before, but this year's planting was a little
different due to some inspiration from one of my favorite bloggers,
Brooke Giannetti of Velvet and Linen. Click HERE to see more on her blog.
This year I chose to focus my planting on herbs and vegetables that I could
use in my kitchen.

Like Brooke and her family, my husband, little 15 pound pup and I
spent the day beautified our outdoor living spaces.

It was a long day's work, and I'm super happy with the outcome.
On the back patio, I concentrated on mostly herbs and vegetables.
We planted a tomato plant, cilantro, rosemary, mint, basil, thyme,
parsley, chives, arugula, a pepper tree and a variety of colorful
flowers like geraniums and daffodils.

On the front porch, the focus was color! I planted various hanging plants
with lots of bright flowers. There's nothing better than looking out your
front window and seeing happy colors.

While I LOVE my isty bitsy teenie weenie garden, I'm dreaming of the
day when I can plant a big gardenlike Brooke's.

Here are some of the pictures of Brooke's Kitchen Garden that got me
dreaming of the day that I have aspace big enough to plant a garden
relatively close to the grandeur of the Giannetti's Garden.

Here's the Giannetti's front lawn before the garden transformation
(I'll just take that!).

This is a sketch that her husband drew of their idea.

Here's the finished product! Wow!

The garden looks incredible and definitely brought me a lot of
inspiration for my own teenie weenie
garden.

While my garden is no where near the size or beauty of Brooke's,
my day was filled with a ton of fun and a lot of beauty from my
teenie weenie family. One day, when I have a bigger home, bigger
yard and bigger family, I hope to do something similar with my lawn.

Way to go, Brooke!

A tout a l'heure,

Natalie
