Greening Green Hills

As promised, here is my plan of how to make the retail area of Green Hills greener and more walkable. Here are a couple plans to show how we can do this.

Above is an existing plan of the current Green Hills (white=buildings/parking structures, green=green space, grey=asphalt/concrete, yellow=roads). Not only is there not a ton of vegetation, but the plan shows the lack of cohesion between the multiple shopping areas.

Here is a greener version of Green Hill. By adding more parking structures (in blue), we can eliminate asphalt and concrete and replace these areas with greenery, sidewalks and parks. The parking structures can have green roofs (adding park space) and green walls (adding beauty to what otherwise would be boring concrete). We can add sidewalks and bridges to connect the various shopping centers and target the heavily trafficked areas as key shopping streets. Also, by adding interesting art, park benches, planters and flowers, designed storefronts and signage, we can create a welcoming shopping environment.

Here are some images to show how it should look and feel.
